Monument, early C19. Stone, with plinth of cement-rendered brickwork. Obelisk
on 4 ball feet on square stone base, on rendered plinth. Ball and rosette on
top. No inscription. Height approx. 6 metres. Sir William Addison states
that after the death of the first owner The Warren was occupied by General =
Grosvenor, who erected the obelisk to the charger he rode at Waterloo. (Epping
Forest, its Literary and Historical Associations, 1945, p.223).
