Early C16 house framed in timber now rough cast and marked in external panels.
Central front door with heavy wooden case and pediment on consoles. Range of
3 sash windows on both storeys and blind semi-circular fanlight above pediment.
Roof ridged hipped peg-tiled with pilastered red brick chimney stack near centre
of ridge. Eaves and troughing. Inside: the chimney stack and first floor to
the hall are intrusions of the later C16 and the floor-joists have haunched
tenons. The plan was originally on a T with cross-wing at north end. The south
cross-wing was added during the later C16. The roof of the original cross-wing
retains an octagonal crown-post, that of the hall was rebuilt during the C17
and the south wing has an Elizabethan braced side-purlin roof.
