House. Mid C17, altered C19. Coursed gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings
and massive quoins. Stone slate roof with stone gable end and side wall stacks.
Moulded stone coped gables with plain kneelers. Two storeys plus attics.
Two bays with advanced bay to west. Eastern bay has 5-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with returned hoodmould over and C18 leaded lights. To east a chamfered flush quoined doorcase with panelled door. In advanced western
bay a central 2-light recessed and chamfered window, with returned hoodmould.
which was lengthened in C19. Above similar opening, without mullion which was
also lengthened in C19, now with three pane sash. To east 4-light recessed and
chamfered mullion window with returned hoodmould and C18 leaded lights. Above
to eaves small single light attic window. To west 2-light recessed and chamfered
mullion window with returned hoodmould and C20 casements. West elevation
has partially blocked, transomed stairwindow with variously dated glazing.
To north two 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows with returned hood-
moulds, lower one blocked. Interior has C18 panelled entrance lobby. Large
C17 fireplace with shouldered lintel and ovolo moulded edge to east room,
also ovolo moulded beams. Cl7 fireplaces to eastern bedrooms. All recessed
and chamfered mullion windows to west wing have ovolo moulded inner edge.
Staircase in original position but renewed probably in C18.
