Farmhouse. Circa early C19. Painted stone rubble rendered right hand side
and with slate hung front-and left (west) side. Slate roof with gabled
ends. Rendered gable end stacks and broad left lend stack projects
slightly and is slate hung the same as the gable end wall.
Plan: double depth rectangular plan with 2 principal front rooms and
central entrance hall between containing the stairs at the back. Behind
the front rooms there are 2 smaller service rooms, probably the kitchen to
the left and dairy to the right. Under the right end the collars are
entered from a doorway at the lower level at the right side. The kitchen
is now in a C20 single storey outshut at the back.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window front, the windows disposed
slightly towards the right. Early C19 sashes on the first floor 16-pane
sashes to the right and left and a narrow central sash with 12 panes. The
2 ground floor windows have late C19 or early C20 4-pane sashes with horns.
All the windows are in original openings. Central doorway with reeded
flush panel door and C20 glazed porch. the back has C20 casements in
original openings and centre first floor is a larger stair window with C20
window frame. Flush panel door below now enclosed within C20 single storey
outshut.
Interior: not inspected but the original panelled front window shutters are
intact. the interior is said to be unaltered and is likely to have
panelled doors and its original staircase.
