Bank barn. Circa late C18 or early C19. Slate rubble steeply pitched
corruaated iron roof with half hipped ends.
Plan: Long rectangular plan bank barn with shippon doorways on the lower
south front and 2 barn doors at the higher north side at the back. At
right angles at the left end of the front a 2-bay open-fronted cattle
shelter.
Exterior: 2 storeys symmetrical south front has 6 shippon doorways with
flat slate arches and 2 loading doors above towards the centre with
corrugated iron canopies on wooden cantilevers.
At the rear 2 barn doorways with large roughly hewn timber lintels land
corrugated iron canopies on wooden cantilevers; later boarded double doors.
Ventilation slits in gable ends.
At right angles at left hand end of south front a single storey wing with a
hipped roof and open fronted inner face with a central rectangular stone
rubble pier; probably a cattle shelter; pegged roof trusses.
Roof: of the main range has collars hipped and pegged to the faces of the
straight principals which have halved and pegged apexes. The walls inside
the barn are plastered.
