Cottage. Circa 1835-40. Rendered stone rubble. Asbestos slate hipped
roof. Rendered lateral end stacks with yellow clay lowered pots.
Plan: Probably a 2-room plan with a central entrance, the right hand room
is heated from a rear lateral stack, the left hand room has an end stack.
Situated at right angles to the road which is to the right. On the left
end there is a late C20 single storey extension.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window east front, the centre first
floor window is blind. Original 2-light casements with 8 panes per light,
in raised rendered surrounds. Central doorway with original 6-pane door
and a C20 glazed porch. Similar original casements on the right hand end
facing the road, one on each floor. On the opposite left hand end a late
C20 flat roofed extension set back.
Including garden wall and gate immediately to the east attached to the
right hand end of the house, fronting the road. Probably mid C19. Local
limestone rubble wall which acts as a retaining wall at the eastern end
where the garden is at higher level. At the centre a gateway with a C19
wrought iron gate, its stiles bent over the top rail.
Interior: Not inspected but is likely to have original joinery.
