Pair of cottages, probably originally one house. Probably Cl7. Plastered
stone rubble and cob. Thatched roof with gabled ends and eyebrow eaves,
large stone rubble gable end stacks with slate weathering and slate cowls.
Plan: Probably a 2-room plan with a central cross or through passage, both
rooms heated from a gable end stack, the larger (higher) left end room
appears to have a stair turret in the front left corner by the stack.
Behind the lower right hand end there is a later single storey outshut and
at the left end a C20 single storey extension.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window south front. C19 2 and 2 light
casements with glazing bars, that to the left on ground floor with hoodmould
and what appears to be a small stair window to its left. At the right hand
end of ground floor a C19 12-pane sash. The blocked central doorway to the
putative passage has a 2-light casement inserted. Doorways to left and
right of centre with C20 doors, left hand is a plank door, right hand is
glazed. C20 single storey outshut on the left end.
Rear has later single storey outshut to loft with a corrugated. asbestos
roof.
Interior: Not inspected but expected to retain interesting features and
possibly the original roof structure.
