Farmhouse on site of ancient manor house. Circa C17 with C18 and C19 alterations.
Rendered stone rubble. Asbestos slate roof with half hipped and gabled ends. Two
storeys. Six window range. Sashes with glazing bars and C19 casements. Doorway to
right with C19 hipped roof porch. Rendered ridge and end chimney stacks. Wing at
rear forming L-shaped plan.
Strode was the seat of the Strode family from 1238, or earlier, to the C15 when they
moved to Old Newnham in Sparkwell parish qv.
