House. c.1760. Painted stucco. Hipped slate roof with diamond pattern to centre.
Gable end brick stacks. Modillion cornice. Double depth plan with large outshut
to rear. Front range has principal room each side of entrance hall. 2 storeys.
Symmetrical 3-window range. Ionic pilasters to each end. 16 paned sashes flank
central Venetian windows with human head keystone, Y-bars to central window and
dentilled entablatures to the pilastered sidelights. 2 large bows to ground floor
with modillion cornices. Tripartite curving sashes 8 over 12 panes to centre and 4
over 6 paned sidelights. Central pedimented door surround with fluted pilasters,
panelled architrave and segmental arched fanlight to 6 panelled door, the upper 2
panels glazed. West side has all original fenestration, all 12 paned sashes and
one 3-light window 10 panes per light. Old plank door with cover strips to rear
outshut.
Interior principal room to right has fine plaster ceiling, rococo in style with
festoons to the centres and corners of rectangular moulded surround to foliated
centrepiece. Plain moulded panelling and fine Adam-style chimneypiece with
festoons and swags above the eared marble surround. Principal room to left has
Jacobethan style introduced fireplace across the angle of the room and doorcase,
both richly carved. Stair hall with modillion cornice and foliated centrepiece has
dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and wreathed and moulded handrail ramped up
to turned newels.
