5/38 Holcombe Cottage
-
- II
Detached cottage. Probably early C19. Roughcast rubble, possibly with some cob;
half-hipped and gable-end thatched roof. Simple 2-room cottage, the room to the
right very small and unheated; porch leads into lobby with stairs beyond; left-
hand end stack with brick shaft. 2 storeys.
Exterior. Front: 2-window range; 2 and 3-light casement windows, probably a
little later than the fabric, to both floors; timber, partially glazed porch.
Interior: very plain, with an unchamfered lintel to fireplace. An unspoilt example
of an early C19 agricultural labourer's cottage.
