rubble flint and cob; hipped and gable end corrugated asbestos roof. Originally a
2-room, baffle entry plan house, with a later (probably early C19) wing to the rear
of the right-hand room. A bathroom (with chamber above) has been added to the
right-hand end of the main range. 2 storeys.
Exterior. Front: originally 2, but now a 3-window range; 2-light casement windows
to first floor, some with glazing bars; ground floor : 4-pane horned sash window to
left-hand room, 3-light casement window to right, (2-light window to bathroom).
Stone porch; wide planked and studded door. Casement windows to left-hand end (the
gable wall rebuilt in breezeblock); rear wing : outer face with 4-light casement
window to first floor, 8 leaded panes per light; C19 6-light window to ground
floor. 3-light C19 casement window to opposite side.
Interior: right-hand room with chamfered cross ceiling beam with run-out stop;
fireplace with bead moulding to jambs and lintel which are pegged together, and
looks very early C18. 2 doors with large fielded panels, 1 with HL hinges. The
left-hand room altered, the fireplace with eroded lintel. The original roof
survives above the right-hand room : 1 collar rafter truss, morticed and pegged at
apex, with a full complement of rafters pegged over the ridge piece. Wing roof with
principals halved and pegged at apex.
