Plaque dated 1847 but foundation of Charity dates back before 1638 when Grave Brock left money for the 'repayr of Mr. Brock's Almshouses in Castell Lane'.
The cottages were rebuilt in 1847 and are still Almshouses, the charity now being part of Okehampton United Charities.
