c.1862. 2-storey Tudor style railway station of squared coursed rock-faced
rubble sandstone. Coped gables with ball finials. Tall reducing chimneys with
moulded plinths and caps. Grey Welsh slate roofs with lead roll ridges. Porch
with pointed entrance arch. Recessed canopy to north platform on cast iron
round columns with raised strapwork. Single storey stone shed east of main
building, of similar character. Stone passenger shelter (of similar character)
on south platform has coped gables with ball and spike finials. Glazed front
added. Stone fronted platforms. The station has been little altered.
