Farmhouse. C17, modernised circa 1970. Plastered local stone and flint rubble and
some cob; stone rubble stacks topped with C20 brick; thatch roof, asbestos tiles to
extension.
Plan: 2-room plan farmhouse facing east-south-east, say east. The larger room to
right (south) has a gable-end stack. The present stairs are between the 2 rooms but
this is a C20 insertion into the right room. The small left room was originally
unheated and the rear lateral stack is a C20 insertion. Single storey kitcnen
extension at the right end is C20. The main house is 2 storeys.
Exterior: irregular 3-window front of C20 casements with glazing bars and another
to the right end extension. The front doorway is roughly central to the main block
and it contains a C20 part-glazed 4-panel door.
Interior is largely the result of C20 modernisation although the basic structure is
C17. The right room crossbeam has deep chamfers and straight cut stops. The
fireplace here is plastered stone rubble with chamfered oak lintel and rear oven.
The left room has 2 chamfered axial beams. The roof was not available for
inspection although the owner claims it is carried on jointed cruck trusses.
