Pairs of semi-detached villas. c1830-50. Stucco over brick
with concealed roof, stucco centre ridge stacks; iron area
railings.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basements, 6 first-floor windows with
single-storey walls with access openings to rear to ends.
Stucco detailing includes first-floor bands surmounted by
Doric pilasters to ends, centre and outer window, surmounted
by continuous frieze and cornice; ground floor of No.2 has
horizontal rustication. 6/6 sashes throughout, taller to
ground floor, all in plain reveals and with sills. Basement
has 8/8 and 6/6 sashes. End entrances: flights of roll-edged
steps to 3- and 4-panel doors with fanlights with radial
glazing, that to right in raised surround; all with low walls
to sides of steps.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery and plasterwork
including panelled shutters to windows, panelled doors,
moulded cornices and fireplaces.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: area railings have scrolled lozenge
motif. Walls adjoining have round-arched openings; copings.
Wall at left abuts No.2 Montpellier Grove (qv).
