The Provost's House

GV II

House. Mid C19 refacing of earlier building. Stuccoed. Plain
tile roof with rendered stack on left and right sides. 2
storeys, 7 bays. Long and short quoin strips. Central 6-panel
door in 2 leaves, with overlight set in panelled reveal,
flanking panelled and fluted pilasters, console brackets over
supporting large triangular pediment with relief ornament in
tympanum. Three 4-pane sashes, on each side and on first
floor, with flanking pilasters, bracketed sillband recessed
between windows, frieze and string course running through at
window head level, broken entablature with curved pediments on
ground floor and window over door. Flanking first floor
windows have triangular pediments. Moulded dentilled eaves
cornice and balustraded parapet. INTERIOR not inspected.
