House. Early/mid C18 origins, extended to right and to left in late C18;
C19 extensions to rear. Brick, rendered and colour-washed, timber eaves
cornice, slate roofs. Original range of 2 storeys, 3 bays. To left a long
projecting timber gabled porch with trellised sides to a projecting brick
porch with C20 panelled door. To right, a 9-pane unequal sliding sash with
sill: to extreme right is a C20 replacement window with glazing bars and a
small single-pane inserted window. First floor: three 9-pane enequal sliding sashes
with sills. Paired brackets to eaves. Slightly advanced extension to left
has canted bay window rising through full height of house: 3 sashes with
glazing bars and sills to ground floor; 3 nine-pane unequal sashes with
sills to first floor. Bracketed, coped, parapet. Single-storey single-bay
extension to far left has unusual tripartite window with central steeply-
bowed 2-light casement with curved glazing bars and panes flanked by 8-pane
sashes; this window was brought from another building c1980. To right of
original range is a slightly advanced 2-storey, 3-bay extension: central
tripartite sash with glazing bars flanked to the left by a 9-pane unequal sliding
sash, both under cambered brick arches. First floor: smaller 3-light
sliding sash flanked by oblong windows with sills. Band, paired brackets to
eaves cornice. The principal ranges have raised coped gables on stone
kneelers. End and axial stacks.
