Public house. Early/mid C18 origins, altered subsequently. Brick, colour-
washed, slate roof. 2 storeys, 4-window front. Unsympathetic C20 projecting
porch flanked to left bay by a 16-pane sash with sill, to right by 2 similar
sashes, each under a wedge lintel. First floor: sash with glazing bars
over door, 2 similar sashes to right, 16-pane sash to left. Tilting 4-pane
oculus between 2 right windows. Plain close verges, end and axial stacks.
The highwayman Dick Turpin was relaxing here when caught in 1739.
