House, now house and shop. Mid C18 with early-mid C19 alterations, C20 shop
to ground floor. Brick in English bond, colour-washed; rendered to right
gable end. Slate roof. Plan: originally 2-room central entrance-hall, with
wing to rear left; ground floor front now single room, with stairhall to
rear. 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows. Single-storey addition to right of
no special interest. Plinth. Half-glazed door to left of centre beneath
3-pane overlight and channelled wedge lintel with fluted key. Blocked
window and two C20 single-pane windows to right in original openings beneath
similar arches. C20 shop front to left with single-pane window beneath
leaded lights in pilastered surround with plain frieze, cornice and hood.
First floor: 2-pane plate-glass sashes in original surrounds similar to
ground floor. Dentilled and moulded wooden eaves cornice. Stone-coped
gables with shaped kneelers. Interior: ground floor contains pair of arched
alcoves and moulded cornice to left, later C19 moulded plasterwork foliate
frieze and panelled ceiling to right; 2-flight return staircase with ramped
handrail, column newel and column-on-vase balusters with square knops;
moulded cornice to first floor left.
