Farmhouse. C16 or earlier, N wing C16 or early C17, S wing
early C17, renovated in early C19. Timber frame on brick plinth,
weatherboarded, plastered N end and rear with steep old red tile
roofs. Late medieval open hall house facing E now one and a half
storeys with inserted floor and C17 central chimney stack at
upper end of hall. S end bay may have been floored already (RCHM
Typescript). Early C17 S wing with large central chimney with 3
stumpy diagonal shafts reduced in height. E room a kitchen, W
room unheated service room. 2 fireplaces in stack on 1st floor.
Early C19 stair hall in S bay of hall-range. 3 windows E front
with gabled dormer in centre and door at S end of hall part.
Flush box sash windows with 8/8 panes. 6-panel flush beaded door
with top panels glazed with simple surround and flat hood on
shaped brackets. Central chimney has tall diagonal shaft with
rebated corners and corbelled head. Similar uoor on N end. 2-
light Yorkshire sliding casement to rear upper part of N wing.
Side-purlin roof structures.
