House. Late Cl7, extended in mid C19. Timber frame on stucco
plinth, roughcast. Red brick SE wing extends as facing to S end.
Steep hipped old red tile roofs. Catslide extension over rear
outshut. A large 2-storeys and attics house facing W with hipped
rear stair turret and 2-storeys later rear wing. Entrance now by
parapeted red brick porch at S but probably built as a lobby-
entry, central chimney plan house. Large central chimney C18
serving a corner fireplace in parlour at S and hall in centre,
with vaulted alcove in sides of stack on ground floor. N room
still fitted and floored as a dairy with chimney inserted at NW.
Near symmetrical W front has 3 hipped dormer windows on the roof
slope with 2-light casements, 4 flush box sash windows to 1st
floor with 6/6 panes, and 3 windows to ground floor, a 2-light
casement to the dairy, a rectangular hipped bay window with
triple sashes to the middle room, and a similar triple sash to
the parlour. Canted grey brick sash window on S end. Front door
in porch half-glazed with coloured margin lights. Interior has 2
Cl7 doors of overlapping moulded planks to dairy and game larder,
closed-string oak newel stair with square balusters, rising
through 3 floors, and 2-panel late C18 doors generally.
