This was Watford’s first purpose built court house, the magistrates and judges having previously used various buildings, including a local hotel. The judges had their own entrance, then King Street with the royal coat of arms over the doorway. When the building was no longer required by the Lord Chancellor’s Department, it was converted by the Sikh community.
