Barn, E part C16, W part C17. Timber frame dark weatherboarding and
steep old red tile roof stepping down to E part and half hip with gablet
at E end. A 6-bays unaisled barn lying E-W. Earlier part of 2 bays
(formerly, 3 or more) has jowled posts with quadrant convex braces to
middle truss, heavy curved queen-posts support clasped-purlin roof with
straight wind braces. Projecting N outshut in 2nd bay from E. Convex
curved braces in walls with full-height heavy studs. Straight braces to
corners. Taller 4-bays W part has jowled bay posts but unjowled posts at
mid-bay. Straight braces to tie-beams. Mid-height rail in walls with
straight tension braces over. Inclined queen-posts to clasped-purlin
roof. Face-halved bladed scarf joint.
