Farmhouse, now a private house and adjoining barn. Barn C17, lower S part
of house probably C17, N part of house C18. Painted brick walls and steep
hipped red tile roofs to house, steep old red tile roof to barn. Older S
part of house of 1½ storeys and originally 2 cells with rear-wall
projecting chimney to LH cell with entrance. Trimming suggests stair in
RH cell. Central flat topped dormer and central door flanked by 3-light
casement windows, all renewed. Taller and wider, 2-storeys and basement,
2 cells main house facing W with rear wall chimney to N cell and S gable
internal chimney. 3 windows W front symmetrical with central door. Small
paned recessed Yorkshire sliding casements under gauged flat arches to
1st floor: 3-light casements to ground floor and 4-panelled door up 2
steps with flat arch. Tall 3-bays S barn with gabled central porch on S,
opposed double door on N, and wind vane on W gable end. Clasped purlin
roof on jowled posts and angled queen-posts. (Roberts(1975)No.41).
