Farmhouse. Probably late C17 with early C19 and early C20 alterations.
Sandstone rubble, brick, timber-frame with brick and plaster infill.
Welsh slate roofs. Sandstone rubble and brick stacks. Roughly square
plan consisting of two parallel ranges aligned north-west/south-east,
the eastern one with an arm projecting eastwards. Cellar, two storeys
and attics. South elevation has two gable fronts. The right one has
exposed framing, a 3-light C20 steel casement to first floor beneath
which is an 3-light early C20 mullioned and transomed window with a
cambered hoodmould. To the right of this window is an embattled c1900
porch with glazed contemporary door. The left gable has two glazing bar
sashes to the first floor and a 3-light glazing bar casement to ground
floor. All three have segmental brick heads. West elevation has segmentally
headed entry, beneath side stack, to cellar. The left or north corner
is battered. Interior has C17 oak panelling and oak floor boards to principal
room behind south porch. Cellar has brick 4-centred barrel vaults. First
floor rooms have ceiling beams with lamb's tongue chamfer stops. Attics
have oak floor boards. Gable of eastern range has truss with two collars,
the lower one supported on three posts from tie-beam; the upper one,
supported from the lower by two posts, carries V-struts.
