Parish church. Late C12 and early C13, mid- to late C19 restoration.
Coursed sandstone rubble; tiled roof. Continuous nave and chancel, late
C19 south porch and west vestry. Nave and chancel, plinth, raised verges,
single restored C19 lancets flank gabled C19 south porch; late C12 inner
doorway, two-centred arched head of two orders, outer chamfered continuous
order and inner roll-moulded with chamfered imposts, C19 moulded label;
north wall of nave has three similar C19 restored lancet windows, C15 west
window of three cinquefoil-headed lights and tracery, pair of C14 trefoiled-
ogee headed lights to left and pair of late C13 trefoil-headed lights to
right of C12 chancel doorway with semicircular head. North wall of chancel
retains two lancet windows. East end; two lower single lancets and C13
lancet in gable.
INTERIOR: concave splayed reveals to east windows with
labels which continue around church interior as string course. Similarly
sills also continued as second string course below. Similar concave splayed
reveals to lancets of north wall of chancel. C14 or C15 trussed-rafter roof
with scissor bracing to nave, C15 chancel roof of three bays with four
hammer-beam trusses; decorative members and traceried infilling between hammer
beams and collars. No chancel arch. Mid- to late C19 organ case with columns
and caryatids said to have been removed from a private house.
