Farmhouse. Probably C17, altered in C18. Timber-framed, brick finished in
roughcast and tiled roofs; stacks to east centre, off-ridge to south, end
stack to north-west and two side stacks to north. Rectangular plan aligned
east/west. Two storeys. East elevation: two windows, 30-pane wrought iron
C18 casements to first floor and left hand side of ground floor; right hand
ground floor window is mid-C20 12-pane wooden casement; a small mid-C20 case-
ment has been inserted between the two first floor casements; entrance slightly
to right of centre: elliptical bracketed hood over C18 door with two glazed top
lights above two large planked panels; M-roof hipped to front, presents the end
of a longitudinal valley gutter to the centre. Dentilled brick eaves cornices
to side elevations; north elevation has scattered fenestration of early C19
wood and iron casements those to the right mainly under segmental heads.
Interior (not inspected) is said to retain the features, including C17 panelling
and carved wall-posts, noted by the RCHM in 1932. (RCHM Vol II, p 127).
