C18/19 house incorporating medieval remains of the Cistercian Abbey of Newenham
founded in 1246. Stone rubble house with tiled roof with gabled ends. Two storeys.
Long four-window range. Modern metal-frame casements. Modern porch to left of
centre. Two brick chimney stacks at the ridge. Wing at rear forming T-shaped plan.
Interior: east wall has chamfered stone door frame. In the north wall is a reset
stone corbel. The house incorporates what was probably the west range of the Abbey.
