House. C14 hall house with crosswings east and west. Timber framed and
plastered, with red plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Crosswings, gabled and
jettied, with exposed joists and brackets. 3 window range, C19 and C20
casements, and one small C16 mullioned window. Red brick, C16 chimney stack
with attached diagonal shafts. Lean-to porch incorporates fascia inscribed
1630 RM. Internally the original frame survives, with original mullioned
windows and many C16 doors. First floor inserted in open hall in mid C16, and
C16 fireplace with mantel beam. Moated Site. RCHM 12.
