Chest tomb. Dated 1698 in memory of Nicholas Code. Hamstone. The chest tomb is
rectangular in plan with plain sides and a soffit-moulded flat lid. Any plinth is
buried. The southern long side is inscribed in Gothic lettering and records the
death of Nicholas Code in 1698.
Nicholas Code from nearby Moonhayes Farmhouse (q.v) is believed to have donated the
Baptist Church site.
