GV II
Gate piers and gate. Circa 1830. Wrought iron. The gate leads to the main drive to
Ratclyffe (q.v). The piers are round-headed and have a wrought iron acanthus motif
above ovals fixed to the stiles by small circles. The gate is original and the
horizontal rails are braced by curving struts. The centre vertical includes a cast
boss. The top rail curves downwards and the end stiles rise above and bend over to
scrolls.
