Terrace of 8 houses, part now 2 hotels. 1844. Stuccoed brick.
Slate and concrete tile roofs.
3 storeys and attic on a basement; 16-window range. Nos 1-2
and 7-8 have a higher parapeted attic storey to close the
terrace to east and west and are brought forward with
rusticated quoins. The centre houses (Nos 3-6) have a pierced
parapet. Each house has an entrance door under a plain
overlight and a 3-storey canted bay window. Cast-iron balcony
runs entire length of terrace at first-floor level. Sashes
mostly without glazing bars, although No.5 retains 6/6
unhorned sashes to second floor. French doors to the balcony.
Nos 1-2 converted in C20 to one house and doorway and steps to
former No.1 removed. Gabled and hipped roofs. 3 transverse
ridge stacks.
INTERIOR: (Nos 5 & 7-8 inspected). Stick-baluster staircases
with ramped and wreathed handrail. Internal entrance arch.
Moulded cornices and roses to principal rooms. Nos 7-8
staircase with bulbous turned balusters, square newel posts
and moulded handrail.
