Farmhouse. Early C17 with large early C19 addition and
considerable alterations. Mutilated close studded timber frame
with brick nogging on stone plinth and red brick with painted
stone dressings. C17 part has slate roof with brick ridge and
gable stacks, whilst early C19 part has a half hipped plain tile
roof with brick side wall stack and a dentilled eaves band.
L-plan with three bay C17 part to north and advanced, higher,
early C19 addition to east, both two storeys. In the angle
between the two wings is an early C19 two storey porch. South
elevation has C20 3-light casement window to west with segment
headed doorcase to east. Beyond, to east is a 3-light C19
casement window and the advanced C19 porch which has a
semi-circular headed doorcase with raised and fielded panelled
door under a traceried fanlight. Over the door has been placed
a rustic porch. Early C19 wing to east has a glazing bar sash
under flat arch lintel to west wall and to south wall. Similar
windows above, with a 2-light casement window above, the porch.
To west, C17 wing has a similar 2-light casement. Interior has
inglenook fireplaces to two western rooms, the original winder
staircase, and a close studded timber partition in the C17 wing,
also an elegant stick baluster staircase in the addition.
