The City Mill. dated 1744, now a Youth Hostel, consists of a 4-storeyed
gable with lower floor red brick and upper part tile hung old tile roof.
Windows (modern leaded) are grouped symmetrically; ground floor 2 windows,
1st floor 4 windows, 2nd floor 2 windows and central hoist door, 3rd floor
1 window. Adjoining and at the back of the old Mill Cafe is a 2-storey
brick building (part of City Mill) with old tile roof, with 2 windows
visible on South front.
No 1 Water Lane form a group with Nos 1 to 4 (consec) Bridge Street and
the City Bridge. High Street.
