Medieval timber-framed hall with cross wings, with additions and cladding of
the later periods; a complex block now divided into 3 dwellings. C16, C17,
C18. At the front (east) the centre is 1 storey and attic, and on each side
are 2-storeyed wings with gables: the tile roof reaches a low eaves (in the
centre) from 2 ridge levels, the upper parts at each side are tile hung, the
ground-floor (with recessed centre) has brick walling in Flemish and Monk
bonds. Casements, one lst floor bay on brackets with tile roof at the north
side, the south side having a C18 rectangular bay with a cornice. Plain door-
way with hood on simple brackets and 6-panelled door. At the rear the south
side projects as a C18 unit (of 2 storeys and attic) with 2 gables, brick
walling in English bond, 1st floor band, rubbed flat arches, and mostly-modern
casements, its south wall has 2 simple C18 doorways with hoods on brackets. The
north wall of the block has massive exposed framing, with bricknogging (some
herring-bone), one old leaded casement and a C20 open porch (No 7) with a hip-
ped tile roof.
