House. Late-medieval timber-framed hall, with larger extensions of c1600,
following insertion of fireplaces and upper floor, with recladding of the late
C18 and early C19, and minor late C19 additions. Walls of brickwork, the oldest
parts in mixed English bond (with Flemish above), but mainly of Flemish Garden
Wall bond: small areas of malmstone and flint with brick dressings, and a rear
wall of flint with brick bands, also small exposure of frame. Tile roof. West
front of two storeys five windows. Small C20 upper casements, two ground-floor
early C19 sashes in exposed frames. Pediment hood with ornamental front, with
plain doorframe and half-glazed door. The long south elevation is similar, with
a C20 gabled porch and boarded door. Inside, the timber frame is exposed in
crosswalls, and there is a massive chimney breast, at one time attached to the
outside of the hall.
