Circa 1800. North facade painted white, south facade rendered white. Hipped slate
roof. 3 storeys. 5 windows, sashes with glazing bars. North facade has semi-circular
porch with round arched doorway. 6 panelled door with semi-circular fanlight above.
Later portion to west of 2 storeys with hipped roof. 4 windows, outer 3 form canted
bay. Sashes with glazing bars. South facade of main building has a curved centre
bay extending full height of building. Interior retains a fireplace with dentil
cornice and plain pilasters. Staircase with 2 straight balusters on each step,
carved brackets to treads, moulded string and ramped and scrolled handrail. Modern
brick extensions to west.
Great Abshot House and its Stables form a group with the barn at Great Abshot Farm
and with Little Abshot Farmhouse. (The barn at Great Abshot Farm is a building
of local interest).
