House. C16, with late C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Mixed wall
materials, with a tile roof. Late medieval timber-framed hall (with inserted
floor), with 2-storeyed cross-wing. Front (west) of storeys, 2.1 windows.
There are 2 gabled dormers with cills at eaves level, ½-hipped crosswing shafted
stack. The front wall is rendered (on a brick skin attached to the frame), with
tile hung upper wall to the wing. Casements. C20 large porch, with large
windows and ½-hipped roof. The cross-wing has exposed framing on its south and
east sides, with painted brick infill. The north gable has exposed framing and
shows the catslide at the rear. There are C20 rear extensions (including some
½-timbered north wall), linking to a mid. C19 circular oast house, with a conical
roof.
