Mapledurwell House

C18, circa 1840. Two storeys; old block of 3 windows, with a taller addition
(projecting forward) on the east side, of the later period. Old tile hipped roofing, 2
massive stacks on the west end; later unit has a low-pitched slate roof with wide
eaves. Red brick walling in Flemish bond (some blue headers), cambered openings to the
ground-floor, the east wing has a moulded stone first-floor band and a tall 2-storeyed
bay with a stone framework. Sashes, one ground floor bay on the west side; the north
elevation of the old part has mullion and transomed windows. On the north side there
is a projecting brick porch (of the later period) with a slate roof, low-pitched gable,
and a pointed Gothic doorway flanked by small coupled Tudor lights.
