several additions, forming fairly regular facades on the important north and east
fronts, with a complex group of small separately roofed units within the angle on the
south side. The old (east) front has a later angular 2-storeyed bay at the north side
and a later single-storeyed block attached to the west end (also with a bay at its
south side) to give 3.1.1.3 windows. Hipped slate roof, 2 dormers with segmental
tops. Stucco walling, with stone coping to parapet, first-floor band, plinth. Sashes
in reveals, of 3-lights in the centre of the main part. The north elevation has 2
storeys, 2.1.4 windows. Slate roof, wooden moulded cornice with coupled brackets,
breaking over the projected entrance as a pediment. Stucco walling, first-floor band
(discontinued above the entrance), the cills, plinth. Sashes in reveals, but with
outer wooden architraves. The wide doorcase has delicate mouldings, a thin cornice on
2 console brackets, panels above narrow side windows and door, panels beneath the side
windows, and stepped plinth, the doorway being arched and enclosing a 6-panelled door.
The other elevations are of the later periods, giving a patchwork of several attached
units, in vernacular style.
