1875-78. The first church to be built in the new town, by Sidney Stapley.
A simple design of nave (5 bays) and chancel (2 bays), expressed in a non-
elaborate Early English style. Steep slate roof, finials to gables. Stone
walling in coursed rubble with ashlar dressings; buttresses, plinth. Windows
are generally triple lancets, with a large Geometrical window in the western
gable. West porch with moulded arches; north porch of simpler style.
