1897. An ostentatious facade, but plainer side elevations of greater period
significance. 2 storeys, with attic in tower. The front has a slightly projecting
tower with ornamental rails surmounting a very steep roof; the top floor has a
single round-headed window within an arched frame, a keystone. 1st floor
windows are coupled, with keystones tied to a bend, hoodmoulds and a continuous
cill. The ground floor has a cornice, rusticated walling and a wide doornray
within a Tuscan Order.
East side of front has coupled windows about a ground-floor bay; west side is
a 2-storeyed bay of 3 windows. Features include a bracketted eaves, bands,
quoins, plinth, and panels beneath some windows.
The long east (side) elevation contains elaborate chimney stacks, one projected
on arched 1st floor brackets; a number of narrow round-arched windows
arranged asyrmetrically, and a large 1st floor segmental bay of 3 windows.
The west (side) elevation contains a dated. cartouche in a plain wall, with
set-back rear extension in two parts, one a timber-framed entrance and the
other a wall containing openings arranged irregularly and including a segmental
1st floor turret. Slate roof, rendered walling, sash windows.
