Mid C19. Butterfield style block of 4 (eastern 2 now one) cottages, with a
symmetrical front (south) of 2 storeys, 1.4.1 windows. Tile roofing, half-hipped at
ends, with a lower eaves to the slightly projecting sides; tall brick stacks with
tile-hung lower parts. Red brick walling in Flemish bond, with several flush blue
bands, the upper band intersected by diapers, first floor projecting blue band with
recessed blue headers above and below, angular openings with patterns of dark brick
voussoirs, plinth. Three-light casements with cast-iron windows, having Gothic heads;
stone cills. Gabled brick porches to Nos 8 and 10. The west gable shows 4 vertical
blue diaper patterns intersecting horizontal bands, with a central brick porch with a
single-pitched roof and side doorway (facing the front); the east gable is similar but
the porch has been removed.
