C15, C18, C20. A C18 re-fronting of a medieval timber-framed house; 2 storeys, 3
windows. Tile roof, half-hipped at the south side and brought to a low eaves at the
north-side outshot, catslide at the rear; shafted stack. Front (east) wall in red
brickwork, Flemish bond, rubbed flat arches, first floor band, blue header panel
above the doorway to No 3, the south wall is mostly tile-hung, with scalloped bands.
Wood casements. Two boarded doors in solid frames. Within, the timber-frame is
fairly complete, the north side being a 2-bay unit at right-angles, containing an
upper window of 2-lights with cusped heads (carved from the solid). The stack has
been inserted, and a first floor fireplace (to No 3) is stone-framed, with a 4-centred
chamfered arched opening. The ground-floor of No 3 has C17 panelling, a complete C18
corner cupboard, another C18, utility cupboard, and the old staircase with C18 rails.
Small rear extension, in matching style.
