Barn, former stable, shelter shed. C17, late C18, C19. Barn,
timber-framing faced weatherboarding, on well-squared, coursed
stone plinth; stable roughly squared, coursed stone, also rear
wall to shelter shed: corrugated asbestos roof to barn and stable:
stone slate to shelter shed. Five-bay barn, 2-bay stable on end,
originally lofted, with rear lean-to, 'L' plan shelter shed off
other end of barn. Barn and stable form continuous range, roof
running through. Towards house, stable on left, centre boarded
door, timber lintel; inside, loft removed, one interrupted tie-
beam truss, central door to rear lean-to. Barn, high plinth,
chamfered top; double boarded doors in centre, one in 2 sections,
boarded door to end bay on left. Interior, stone-paved threshing
floor, loft inserted left end; tie-beam trusses, short angle
struts and high collar, straight braces to wall posts. Shelter
shed off rear of right end, open towards right: 4 and 5 bay wings,
open fronted with timber posts on stone bases, hipped roof: collar
rafters. Stable added to barn, shelter-shed later addition. Whole
forms good range of farm buildings. Return wing from barn on right
towards house not of special interest.
