Square house, raised on a basement, with symmetrical elevations. Circa 1830.
Brick (some render), with a slate roof. 2 storeys on semi-basement, each
facade of 3 windows. Low-pitched slate roof, with a wide eaves, having
mutule blocks set against a plain fascia. The front (east) has bow-shaped
walls, a flat centrepiece and plain flat end pilasters. The walling is
yellow brickwork in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches, and a stone band to
the plinth. Sashes in reveals. Greek Doric porch on 5 splayed steps, the
columns being fluted in the upperpart, architrave enclosing a fanlight with
diagonal pattern. The south elevation is rendered and has basement windows,
and a central doorway with fanlight, ½-glazed double doors opening onto a cast-
iron balcony, approached by a flight of cast-iron steps with decorative rails.
The north elevation is plain, with a central (sunk) door into the basement.
The west elevation has a tall staircase window and a service block in the form
of a basement outshot, with irregular windows and a trellis framework to its
entrance.
