One large barn and small adjoining barn to west. Large barn
probably late medieval, smaller barn late C18. Rubble stone with
quoins, stone slate roof with coped verge and saddle stone to east
Large barn has very wide gabled cart entry projecting to left with
tile-hung gable, renewed timber lintel and doors, and raking
buttresses on each side. Inserted square openings to right. Large
opposed gabled entry, walled up on inside. East gable end has very
long slit vent with splayed inner reveal, with dripmould right
across gable halfway down vent. Five bays with inner side of end
bay of aisle construction with arcade posts and struts to tie beams
and arcade plate, and wind bracing between arcade and wall plates.
East side of opposed entries also has pair of base crucks on stone
plinths, partially obscured in walling up of north entry. Some
replaced rafters and upper purlins. Interior has been plastered
and has earth floor. Barn to west has nearly central gabled
projecting cart entry with boarded gable, timber lintel and double
doors, and similar opposed gabled entry. Slit vents to each side,
pitch hole and slit vent to west. Four bays, king post trusses.
