Mill and attached millhouse, now a trout farm. Millhouse probably
late C17/early C18, mill of late C18/early C19. Both in coursed
rubble stone, stone slate roof, brick stacks to both left ends,
that to house being on semi-external stone stack. Millhouse of two
storeys and attic and small later extensions to rear. Three
windows, 2-light stone mullion and transoms. Ground floor has two
3-light chamfered stone mullions with flat stone voussoir heads
above stone frames. All fenestration with iron casements. Central
doorcase of stone, also with flat stone voussoir head, with
fanlight of 2 square lights, and vertical battened door probably of
late C19. Three small gabled dormers with twin leaded casements.
One stone mullion and transom to rear elevation. Mill of two
storeys with high area of blind wall above first floor windows.
Three windows, twin wooden casements with cambered stone heads.
One similar window to right on ground floor, and two doors to left.
Similar windows on first floor to rear. Smaller lower wing to east
with concrete tile roof. Mill waters of River Churn run below
mill.
