8/169 Ballinger's Farmhouse
II

Detached house. Early-mid C17. Coursed squared and dressed
limestone, stone slate roof; stone and brick stacks. Rectangular
plan with cross gable on left. Gable at left-hand end; two
storeys and attic, 3-light casements to ground and first floors
with stopped hoods, 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned
casement with stopped hood lighting garret. Two and 3-light
casements mostly with timber lintels to range right of gable.
Most casements with horizontal glazing bars. Projecting gabled
C20 porch far right with C19 plank door at front. Axial and gable
end stacks, stone with moulded cappings.
Interior; deep-chamfered tie beams with moulded and jewelled
stops, square-panelled timber-framed partition walls. Stone
fireplace with moulded surround and keystone.
