Detached house. Dated 1763 on sunken circular panel within
pediment, earlier possibly C17 range at rear. Facade rendered
with rusticated quoins at corners and either side of central bay.
C17 range at rear; roughly coursed, roughly dressed limestone,
rear wall pebble-dashed. Stone stacks to both ranges, roof of C18
part not visible, asbestos slates to C17 part. Rectangular plan
to C18 range with C17 range parallel at rear. C20 part-glazed
porch and garage at rear, not of special interest. Mid C18 range,
symmetrical, 2-storey, 2:1:2 windowed facade, all 12-pane sashes
within plain architraves. Cellar under left end. Triangular
pediment over central bay set within parapet. C18, fielded 6-
panel door with 4-pane hall light, up 5 stone steps with simple
cast iron balustrade. Doric half-columns, plain frieze and
segmental pediment to doorcase. Moulded cornice below roof
parapet. Gable end with rusticated quoins at north-west corner,
3-light stone-mullioned casement with transom to ground floor.
Two-light stone-mullioned cross window to first floor. Two-light
stone-mullioned garret light. All windows with stopped hoods.
C17 range; 2½ storeys with gable off centre left. Two-light
hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement to cellar, lower left, 9-
pane casements and 2 and 3-light casements with wide glazing bars
and single light with stone surround. Roof to C18 range hipped
with gable end stacks, with moulded cappings, axial stacks to C17
range.
Interior; fine mid C18 open well staircase with barley twist
balusters (3 per tread), open string, decorative brackets to risers
and wreathed handrail.
